Yay, it's garbage day! Put out your garbage, recycling, and green waste bins on the curb before 4:00 a.m. on Fridays.
Information about disposing large bulky items as well as batteries, fluorescent lights, paint, and oil can be found on Republic Service's website.
According to their website:
The list of items accepted in the blue Recycle Cart and the green Compost Cart is very extensive, leaving very little for the brown Garbage Cart.
The three-cart system includes:
- Recycle (blue cart) – With single-stream recycling, you can place all of your recyclables together in one cart – no sorting needed!
- Compost (green cart) – Place food scraps and food-soiled paper products in with your yard trimmings in your green Compost Cart. Don’t forget to use your Kitchen Pail as a convenient way to collect your food scraps in your home. Once full, empty the contents of your Kitchen Pail into your Compost Cart. Do NOT set the Kitchen Pail out curbside for collection with your carts. You can use compostable bags (BPI approved only) to line your Kitchen Pail or Compost Cart. You can also use newspaper, paper bags or towels to line your Kitchen Pail or Compost Cart.
- Garbage (brown cart) – There shouldn’t be much left to go in this cart if you recycle and compost all the things accepted in the program.
